This week, we’re shaking up our Sunday Spark. Instead of a single prompt, you’re getting a full-blown writing generator. Why? Because creativity loves surprise — and so do we.

Grab three six-sided dice (or use an online roller) and get ready to build your own writing challenge:


🎲 Roll 3d6 for Your Writing Prompt:

Die 1: Genre

  1. Sci-Fi
  2. Fantasy
  3. Romance
  4. Mystery
  5. Horror
  6. Historical Fiction

Die 2: Protagonist Type

  1. A thief with a conscience
  2. A time traveler stranded in the wrong year
  3. A former soldier turned pacifist
  4. A child who knows too much
  5. A detective who hides a secret
  6. A reluctant chosen one

Die 3: Plot Twist

  1. The villain is someone they trust
  2. The ending loops back to the beginning
  3. Their power comes at a terrible cost
  4. They’ve been lied to about their mission
  5. A love interest is working for the enemy
  6. They’re the villain and don’t know it yet

✍️ Example Rolls:

  • 🎲 2, 4, 5 → Fantasy + A child who knows too much + Love interest is working for the enemy
  • 🎲 6, 1, 3 → Historical Fiction + A thief with a conscience + Their power comes at a terrible cost

Write a 300–500 word scene based on your roll.
